The wedding was rescued by a Fire Pit.
I never would have thought a fire pit could save a marriage. I refer here to my in-laws wedding and not mine.
I had been married to my wife for several years. And like most son-in-laws, my relationship with her parents was far from terrific. We had been mutually friendly, however, something was missing. That was certainly true of my father-in-law. They considered me to be a “cuckoo bird,” though I’m not sure what that means. It didn’t bother me too much and I didn’t allowed it to happen. However, my activities that Christmas affected everything, and it was totally non-purposeful.
My in-laws had been having stressful days. When you mix money with alcohol consumption, this is a typical result. The problem was that they didn’t have a hobby so they could spend time together. I wanted to be funny so I decided to buy them a firepit this Christmas.
In the beginning, they chuckled and questioned what the heck they would do with a fire pit. I ignored them, hoping their arguing would keep them occupied and out of my hair. Possibly, they would set each other’s things on fire. Well, it was only a few weeks later when we went to visit my wife’s parents and found them sitting around the fire, telling stories and reminiscing about better times. We hesitantly joined them, but the night actually turned into the best we’d ever spent with them.
Eating dinner and sitting around the fire pit after a homemade meal and never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d be visiting my wife’s parents twice per week. Surprisingly, it was one of the best and most enjoyable things I’d ever done in my life. We erased tensions by laughing at each other’s odd intricacies, and more importantly, everyone had a good time and as the fire popped and crackled. How something so simple could be so enjoyable and it was the first time in my life that I realized that. A computer for entertainment or we didn’t need television, movies. To bring us all together and we needed nothing more than a fire pit. I am sure that my fire pit kept my marriage alive. I am sure they liked it a lot, despite the fact that they didn’t mention it.
Based on these experiences, which exist to this day, I would highly recommend a fire pit for any married couple. To improve or save any marriage and it has the ability.
