Bonsai Trees are container grown plants or trees that are developed to be a miniature of of its full sized plant. Bonsai are grown from almost any perennial woody stemmed trees and shrubs that grow branches and is able to develop in miniature through pot confinement with the help of crown and root trimming.
Bonsai trees can be developed from seed, from young shoots taken from the wild, (please comply with any laws in respect of taking wild plants or trees in your region), or can be ordered as mature grown bonsai. Although growing bonsai from seed is the slowest route, but you will then have total control of how your bonsai will develop.
Bonsai are grown in special containers that not only contain root growth, but also further enhance the look of your bonsai. Specialist soil mixtures can be bought that provide the ideal conditions for your bonsai to develop.
Many specialist methods are used to shape and give unique character to your bonsai tree including trimming leaves, wiring branches, grafting on other plants, dwarfing and deadwood, (aging and adding character to the bark).
