Easy Wedding Reception Steps and Ideas

Since your marriage ceremony will be the highlight of a lifetime, you will want to consider that time spent in planning and details will be well rewarded.  This is all-encompassing, even extending to the details of the reception after the marriage service.

If you want to host a reception, take a look at how they generally work.

Normally the reception begins within 15 minutes of the couple exiting the auditorium.  Once the guests arrive, they are received and seated.Your seating plan will be followed. If this is not the case, the guests can locate a seat of their choice and also choose who to sit with.

Afterward, be certain that the main sponsors and parent are guided to chairs, seated at the table of honor.

After just about everyone is seated, you can ask the wedding party to stand in the receiving area.  This should not include the primary sponsors or parents.  They must gather together at the pre-determined moment. The order in which the wedding party is called is: flower girls, ring bearers, secondary sponsors, groomsmen and bridesmaids, and lastly, the best man and maid of honor.

After this, the couple makes their grand entrance, to the accompaniment of effects such as confetti, bubbles, fog, etc.

The parents of the bride and groom should be recognized after the couple has made their entrance. Then suggest that the bride and groom begin the cake cutting ceremony.  This is where, if you choose, the doves would be released, as well as a formal champagne toast. The next portion is the maid of honor giving a prayer of thanksgiving. After this comes the meal, in which the guests are called for pictures with the bride and groom.  After this, they go to the buffet table to run things at the table. There are many types of unique wedding cakes.

The musicians perform their songs after everyone has been seated and served.  The audio-visual presentation should be next.

The best man then gives his own toast to the bride and groom, followed by the many well wishes from the rest of the attendees to the couple.  It is best not to permit too many of these to avoid things becoming bogged down.Once this is done, the Bride has a dance with her father, and then the groom steps in and enjoys a dance with his new wife.  Other dancing may follow.

Near the end of the event comes the bouquet-tossing ceremony, in which the bride tosses a bouquet of flowers to the single ladies; there is also a garter ceremony, in which the groom shoots the bride’s garter to the single men. Dont ever forget inexpensive wedding favors or winter wedding favors!

This type of plan has several possible outcomes.  For example not all receptions will have a live band, and many nowadays will include a mother/son dance with the groom and his mother, as well as the traditional father/daughter dance.  But by following this standard program as much as possible, veering only where you’ve made a couple of customizations, you can be sure that your reception will be close enough to traditional that nobody will complain, yet original enough that nobody will get bored.
